Absolutely fantastic place to stay - I can't wait to go back with friends for a long weekend. The houses are decorated to a superb standard, everything is very comfortable and looks amazing. Having a personal hot tub on the deck overlooking the countryside is a pure luxury. The proprietors are very helpful and friendly. Cant recommend this enough

Great place to relax and near all the main (natural) attractions in Southern Iceland. Really good service, modern comfortable and clean apartments, and great views from the hot tub on the deck!

We stayed in an apartment that could have easily slept up to 6 people. It was absolutely beautiful. Mainly IKEA furnished and felt very modern and new and yet warm and cozy at the same time. Every apartment has it's own hot tub as well as wifi that worked very well. The restaurant is wonderful (had dinner there twice). Best lobster I've had in awhile. The owners are very nice and accommodating. It's kind of in the middle of no where, about an hour from the city, so if you're taking a lot of tours from Rejykavik, then the location might not be ideal for you but we drove quite a bit, so it was perfect for us. Plus, I liked feeling like we were in a less crowded countryside. Only other tiny downside.. water has a sulfer-y smell, but I think you get that a lot in Iceland.

Extremely pleasant owners and staff, vast breakfast buffet, tasty and nicely served dinners, good sized accommodations

Guests should be informed more clearly upon check-in that rooms are being cleaned upon request only

    Superb

Wonderful setting, friendly, welcoming, and competent hosts, and the luxury of private, modern homes/studios. The accomodations were very contemporary, comfortable, and tastefully furnished. Very, very quiet and definitely the best dining experience we had in Iceland -- dinner was by candlelight, with a good selection of wines (in Iceland!)_and the breakfast buffet, included with the room rate, was the nicest we encountered on our trip. There was a selection of fresh fruits, and the freshly baked pain au chocolats were simply divine.

Though advertised, and for us a great attraction, none of the hot tubs/spas was operational. One, outside the dining room, was filled with water -- very cold water! The hot tubs located on the decks by the homes were not even filled with water. A disappointment, as there were no tubs in the accomodations, and we had really been looking forward to the hot tub!

These apartments are worth every penny! They are very comfortable, good beds, a very good restaurant. We have stayed in lots of hotels in Island but neither of them were as good as these! If you want to visit Geyser, Pingvellir, Reijkholt etc. this is the place to stay, Only 1 1/2 hours drive of Kevlavik airport. Not cheap, but very, very comfortable and spacious. Best accommodation of Iceland

It's an apartment. They serve breakfast and a very good diner. Make sure to bring you're own drinks, food and things like shampoo! There are towels, dish washer detergent.

Grimsborger is a newly constructed and lovingly managed property located in the countryside outside Selfoss and off the Ring Road (Rt.1), but so close to so many other wonderful sights! Both days I stayed there I stayed gone from early morning until late at night seeing the sights without putting major mileage on the rental car! The owners are the consumate hosts, and the property is maintained to a very high standard. Let's just say when I walked in and saw the toilet paper roll folded like they do in 5 star hotels I knew I was going to be a fantastic stay! I was the only guest at my first breakfast, but despite that Katherine rolled out the whole spread for me, including freshly baked cinnamon rolls! The countryside views from all structures are what you'd expect from rural Iceland, gorgeous! The property was spotless, and the bed was heavenly. The price is very reasonable given the quality, service and location...treat yourself...you won't be disappointed!

I only have one niggle, and I believe it doesn't have anything to do with the property owners, but whatever mapping mechanism that Booked.net uses. Because this was a last minute booking for me, I used the directions on Booked.net instead of the Grimsborgir website. DON'T! Take the time to go to the Grimsborgir site, or use your own mapping site The directions on Booked.net do not use the common names for the street you need to take, and you will spend much more time looking for the property than you need to! Iceland is too beautiful to lose time trying to find the property. Grimsborgir is very simple to get to, just don't use the Booked.net directions!

We really enjoyed our stay at Grimsborgir Apartments. We booked a 2 bedroom apartment but ended up with a fantastic 4 bedroom apartment. It's actually not an apartement, it's a very well decorated (lot of IKEA) villa with a full equiped kitchen, fire place, enormous bathroom, 4 large bedrooms, seperate toilet and a hottub outside. Breakfast, inlcuded in the rental, is delicious. The owner/manager does everthing to make you feel comfortable. We had a delicious dinner one night at the restaurant and were suprised not more guests come over for dinner.

The accommodation was exceptional. It was spotlessly clean, modern and tastefully furnished. As we were staying for four nights and larger accommodation was available, we were upgraded to a magnificent 4 bedroom bungalow with private hot tub. We sat in the hot tub watching the Northern Lights dance over our heads - absolutely amazing. The inclusive breakfasts were very good and the evening meals in the restaurant were of excellent quality (the wine and meals were on the expensive side but I believe that is standard across Iceland). The staff and the owners went out of their way to make us welcome and provided a map of the area with all the local sites of interest marked and told us how long it would take to drive to them. The young lady who looked after us at breakfast looked up a weather forecast for us each day in order that we may calulate the odds of seeing the Northern Lights. The owners, Olaf and Kristen, were a font of local knowledge, even helping us to locate an Icelandic cookery book written in English. Overall, a suberb experience and one that we could recommend wholeheartedly.

We liked everything about the Grimsborgir Luxury Apartments. An option of paying for a welcome package with tea, coffee etc. would perhaps be a nice touch.

Definitely the nicest hotel we stayed at out of 7 during our 10 day trip exploring Iceland. The design was impeccable and luxurious and of incredibly high quality. The restaurant was gourmet, serving both breakfast and a lovely dinner.
